With waisted socket, stepped pillar stem and domed deeply turned circular base.

Provenance:
A handwritten paper label to the underside reads 'Made & polished by Henry N. Shore at Langton Hall, Yorks, Feb. 1867 from bog oak dug up in a field near Bramper Farm, and given to Carry(?), who gave it back to me many years after'.
