Having an impressive one-piece hinged lid with single-reeded edge, gently inward-sloping front and rear boards, fixed within the side boards, the latter with V-shaped cut-away ends and projecting 'buttress' front and rear edges below the base board, traces of red pigment over the pale natural finish, unusual incised decoration to the edges of the lid, repeated on the end and lower edges of the front board
