With cross-hatched decoration throughout and superb dog-tooth profiled arched apron, traces of historic dark green paint throughout.

A comparable chest was discovered on the Mary Rose, Henry VIII's magnificent warship which sank at Spithead, off Portsmouth, in 1545.
